Build Up & Race 1!

On Sunday 27th April 2025, PRT Racing Team attended Goodwood Heat and had a triumphant victory with 1st place for the first time at Goodwood in school history!

We arrived at Priory at 6:15 am and got to the track at 7:20. We unloaded the trailer and swiftly headed for scrutineering and driver briefing.

After a successful practice, we prepared for the race…

With a promising start, Raptor rapidly increased its speed, Hunter closely following behind. An amazing beginning for the first race of the 2025 season.

We had an amazing race, however, in the last 20 minutes, Hunter’s battery died, and it was brought back on a recovery car. Fortunately, Mrs. Brundish and our Year 7 team handled it extremely well and Hunter was back, up and running, before Race 2.

By the end of Race 1, Raptor had completed the incredible distance of 15 laps: placing us in first position.

Race 2 & Awards!

Following our lunch break and the F24+ Race, we positioned ourselves on the grid and eagerly waited for the Race 2 …

Around the first corner, there was a small collision involving Raptor getting hit by another car. Despite this, the race start was perfect.

Later in the race, Frensham School was about to beat our record distance from the first race which would consequently mean that we would not win first prize. However, 15 minutes before the race ended, a car crashed prompting a red flag (stopping the whole race) …

By the end of the race, Raptor was in 2nd in class and Hunter was 12th in class. It was an amazing achievement for Hunter. Top 15 in their first race ever!
