A supportive and happy environment

The Priory School is proud of its excellent pastoral care. Our students’ mental health and wellbeing are of paramount importance to us. We have created a nurturing environment where students are not only encouraged to flourish academically but are also supported throughout all of the challenges they might experience. Our aim is for all students in our care to feel happy, supported and fulfilled so they can thrive and flourish.

We are honoured to have received the prestigious National Whole School Wellbeing Gold Award, a testament to our commitment to putting wellbeing at the heart of learning, teaching and leadership.

The Shore Centre

The Shore Centre is our new purposefully designed facility that provides educational and wellbeing support to all members of our school community. The centre boasts a team of fully qualified mental health leads, ELSAs, Inclusion Specialists and collaboration with external agencies. Furthermore, our students have the unique opportunity to receive training as wellbeing ambassadors through our partnership with Eikon. It is our strong belief that students with positive mental health will have a happier time at school and will be better prepared for life long learning. The Shore Centre is a valuable asset enabling us to provide tailored support to our students throughout their time at The Priory.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors programme with Eikon

Through our partnership with Eikon, we offer a unique opportunity for our students to become Wellbeing Ambassadors.

Eikon Wellbeing Ambassadors is a pupil-led programme, designed to amplify student voice on whole school wellbeing. The aim is for Wellbeing Ambassadors to understand how to look after their own wellbeing and to learn how to promote and support wellbeing in their school.

We are proud to be featured on Eikon’s page highlighting the accomplishments of our Wellbeing Ambassadors. Our students have achieved remarkable outcomes through their dedication to promoting wellbeing within our school.

What I like about The Priory is the strong community of teachers and students that support us and help us achieve our goals.

SIAMS

BE ME Project

Be Me Project has been working at the Priory school since 2014.

Its leaders have a passion to support young people with their mental wellbeing. Through Be Me’s interactive courses students learn more about being themselves, which in turn grows their confidence and helps them in their home and school life.

We are all spending more time online, adults and children, so it is essential we remember the risks attached to our children accessing certain websites, apps and social media. There are steps you can take to protect your child. Please click on this link to a safeguarding hub which provides access to interactive guidance on setting up parental controls on your child’s devices, together with guidance on popular apps such as TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.

Below you will find information for you to download, giving additional details on keeping your child safe online, ideas for maintaining your family’s wellbeing, and where you can go for further support whether you’re a young person, parent or grandparent.

We are always here to support you, so if you or your child have any concerns, please contact your child’s head of year.
